Welcome to the St. David’s Society of Hong Kong
We are a membership society for Welsh people in Hong Kong, or for anyone in Hong Kong who has an association with, or affinity for, Wales.
We are long-established in Hong Kong and celebrated our Centenary Ball on 26 February 2011. Our aims are to provide a society for the mutual benefit and association of our members and to promote and celebrate the culture, language and spirit of Wales in Hong Kong- for example, by celebrating St. David’s Day and, of course, meeting for rugby matches.
We put on a number of events throughout the year and would encourage you to keep an eye on this website and our Twitter page (@HKWelshSociety) for details and to attend- you will be warmly welcomed.
Major events on the horizon include the Inter-Society Golf Challenge on Friday 18 May 2012, the Society’s AGM on Saturday 2 June 2012 and the three Test rugby series between Wales and the Wallabies in June 2012. Please follow the links on the right hand side of this webpage for more details aout these events, or click on the “Events” category above for a complete list of our forthcoming events.
We are pleased to confirm that the 2013 Annual Ball will be held on Saturday 2nd March 2013 at the Hong Kong Football Club.
Country of Origin Rugby 2012
Congratulations to the Welsh team for winning the Plate at this year’s Country of Origin rugby ten’s tournament.
Thanks to those who attended at Kings Park to support the team and Herbert Smith for their sponsorship. Please visit the Gallery section of the site for more photographs.

Annual Ball 2012

Thank you to all that attended our Annual Charity Ball on Saturday 25 February 2012, at the Hong Kong Football Club.
Our special guest this year was the outstanding Welsh Soprano, Gwawr Edwards, who was supported by the Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir. We showed the Welsh team beating England on big-screens at 12 p.m. and this topped off an excellent evening! Photographs to follow in the Gallery section of the website.
